Walking Football is a fun, inclusive, and low-impact version of the beautiful game that’s perfect for staying active, building friendships, and enjoying football at any age or fitness level.

Whether you’re new to the sport, a veteran looking to ease back in, or just want to stay connected to football in a welcoming environment, come join us.

Walking Teams

Walking Football follows the core principles of soccer but with key modifications:

    • no running allowed (just brisk walking!);
    • minimal contact;
    • smaller pitches;
    • and often mixed-gender teams.

It’s designed especially for players over 40 (or those returning from injury or seeking a gentler way to play), helping maintain fitness, improve balance, and keep the passion for football alive without the high-impact risks of the traditional game.

At SPUFC, our Walking Football sessions take place every Thursday from 6:45pm at Challenger Reserve. 

We’ve already fielded mixed teams in tournaments, and the vibe is always social, supportive, and full of great on- and off-pitch chats!

Whether you’re new to the sport, a veteran looking to ease back in, or just want to stay connected to football in a welcoming environment, come join us. All backgrounds, skill levels, and identities are welcome.
